The HLVM-3 is the human rated version of the LVM-3 (Launch Vehicle Mark-3) formerly called the GSLV MK III (Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle). The first flight of the LVM-3 was on 5 June 2017.

This is a 3 stage, medium lift rocket standing 43.43 m tall, has a diameter of 4 m, and can lift a 10,000 kg payload to low Earth orbit.

HLVM-3 is the vehicle used for the Gaganyaan spacecraft and launches from Satish Dhawan Space Centre.
