Second orbital test flight lasting 5 days was to take the Teleoperator Retrieval System (TRS) to Skylab so it could be boosted into a highter orbit.
When it became obvious the shuttle would not launch in time to save Skylab, this flight was repurposed and rescheduled to 6 March 1980 with the OSTA-1 payload and the Remote Manipulator System (Canadarm). This objectives were finally met by STS-2 on 12 November 1981.
